Terms of Service

Packetloss is a Packet.ai product, operated by The Gatepost LLC, a company registered in the USA (number 92-2079175). By using the Packetloss website, API, browser extension, or any related service (together, the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The Service

Packetloss aggregates three signals into a single view of IT service health: official vendor status pages (polled on a fixed schedule), synthetic HTTP checks we run from our own infrastructure, and reports submitted by other users ("crowd reports"). We provide this as a convenience. We are not affiliated with the vendors whose services we monitor.

Best-effort status data

Status information shown on Packetloss is best-effort and is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or timely. Vendor status pages can lag actual outages, synthetic checks can produce false positives and false negatives, and crowd reports are unverified. Do not rely on Packetloss as the sole source of truth for operational or commercial decisions. Always confirm the status of a service with the vendor directly before taking action based on what you see here.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else's use. In particular, you agree not to:

We may block, rate-limit, or remove access for any user or IP range we believe is violating these terms, without notice.

Crowd reports

Reports you submit are aggregated into public counts visible to all users. We do not publish your identity or IP address alongside a report (see our Privacy Policy for details on what we do collect). We reserve the right to remove or discount reports we believe are inaccurate, automated, or submitted in bad faith.

Intellectual property

The Packetloss name, logo, design, code (other than portions licensed under an open-source licence), and the compilation of status data presented on the Service are owned by The Gatepost LLC or its licensors. Underlying status data originates from the respective vendors and remains subject to their own terms. You may link to and reference Packetloss freely; please do not redistribute bulk scraped data as your own.

Third-party services

Packetloss links to and polls public status endpoints operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of those third-party services. Using Packetloss does not grant you any rights under any third party's terms.

No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Gatepost LLC and its officers, employees, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to USD 100.

Changes to the Service or these terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
